Severn Valley School recognises the multi-cultural, multi faith nature of the United Kingdom and understand the crucial role our school plays in promoting these values.
The Rule of Law
Our school has links with the local police who regularly come in to work with classes of students, particularly regarding E-safety. The Fire Service also form a regular part of our curriculum to help reinforce the rule of law.
We have a clearly structured behaviour policy which all stakeholders understand and follow and are aware of the consequences if they are not.
Individual Liberty
Students are constantly asked to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supporting environment.
We provide boundaries and ask students to make safe and informed choices so that they will be empowered and understand the importance
of community.
Students are encouraged to understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms – as in E safety and PSHE lessons – in order to understand how such freedoms may affect them.
Mutual Respect
Our PSHE curriculum embodies values of mutual respect and resilience.
Acceptance of those of different faiths and beliefs
Our curriculum provides a broad and balanced education on a range of faiths, religions and cultures. It celebrates and recognises similarities and differences of those in other countries and cultures.
